What the heck is a Wallaby?

Every day someone asks me this question. It's a completely reasonable request, since I post updates about "Wallaby Trades" on Twitter frequently through the day.

Here are the answers:

1. It's an indicator I built using the regular Stochastic Oscillator as a starting point. From there, I added a few things, and it looks like this:

The indicator will be available for Metatrader, Tradestation, Esignal, NinjaTrader, MotiveWave, Intellicharts, and Forex Tester. I'll add more as I can. The indicator will be free. The code to the indicator will be free also (are you detecting a theme here?).

2. It's the subject of my next book, due out at the end of February 2011. The book is about 150 pages long, will cost about $14, and be available in paperback, and for the Kindle. I'll notify you when it's available, and I do hope you'll buy it on the day it is released. Below is a very small look at the cover of the book.

It's not clickable - because you can't buy the book just yet.

3. It's the subject of a free live seminar in March. In March 2011, in the Los Angeles area, I will hold a free live seminar for a small group, and stream the event live on the Web as well, and I'll talk about the indicator and how I use it. Once again, it's free, and I simply hope you'll be kind enough to buy the book on the day of its release. There is no hidden sales pitch for anything. I've sold enough educational materials in my time, and I am sure that I will again at some point, but this is a chance to do things differently. If you miss the live event, I'll record it and offer as a DVD or online or something.

I'll write you as soon as I've got details on how to register for the event.

The Origins of the Wallaby Book Idea

On December 10, 2010, or about that time, I started thinking that I should write another book, and that it should be about the Wallaby trade.

These are some notes I wrote down at that time, before I started writing. I thought I'd share them with you before I start sending out preview chapters, the Wallaby song, the video, the stickers, and, of course, the book.
